Elementary Program

Elementary Program

Please note:
Synchronous learning requires all participants to be present at the same time, virtually (e.g., live interactive classes with students and teachers).
Asynchronous learning does not require all participants to be virtually present at the same time (e.g., self-paced online courses).

The online learning program model for Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade will require adults at home and within the classroom environment. Activities will be designed to ensure that students continue learning at the pace of the current CCISD scope and sequence.

Schedules for elementary students who are online learners will be structured to require them to participate in real time (synchronous) (except for Pre-K instruction) and independent (asynchronous) learning throughout the day. Virtual learners will follow the same "bell" schedule established by their campus.

Attendance for elementary students will be taken daily for both in-person and on-line. The 90% attendance rule is for all students, whether attending in-person or on-line.

Students with Disabilities

Through Clear Connections, accommodations for students with disabilities will follow the student's IEP or 504 service plans when applicable. Accommodations may not fundamentally alter the content or standards of the course.

Students Identified Gifted and Talented

Clear Connections elementary identified gifted and talented students are assigned to a grade level teacher that has 30 foundational hours of GT training and has maintained their GT update hours each year. GT students also work with the Clear Connections Advanced Academics teacher at specific times during the school week to focus on the social and emotional needs of the student as well as working on independent research projects and critical thinking skills.
